Scoliosis and Helping Aging Spines Lengthen

August 18, 2015 by Jean Massé

Because our scoliosis approach is quite unique, we often have clients come in from out of town and stay for several days of intensive therapy.  On a recent “intensive” situation like this, a patient wrote the following description of her experiences and initial outcome:

“I’ve tried so many therapies and treatments for my scoliosis and this is the first time that I feel I’m in expert hands.  I hope others – especially those newly diagnosed, find their way here.  Having such thorough, precise and thoughtful attention and help is incredible.  After only 3 sessions I grew an inch!”

This patient was an adult who had tried many therapies for her scoliosis since her diagnosis as a teenager.  While this patient did not actually “grow”, she did learn how to lengthen her spine through positional activities and corrections in order to help her elongate her spine, and reclaim some of the height she once had.  Once this patient feels comfortable with her basic program, she will likely return to Advance Physical Therapy for review and program progression.

Please look at our website under our scoliosis program to find out more about our approach.  We are always happy to speak with you in person as well.
