Goals of the Program
The goal of the Postural Restoration Running Program is to help runners achieve optimal performance during the left and right stance phases of running. This is attained by breaking down running into its individual components and runner education. Using Postural Restoration as part of a running training program can help train efficient running through optimizing total body/joint position and muscle activation in ways specific to the demands of running. Improving your running form will conserve your body’s energy, reduce excessive stress to your joints and muscles thus helping you become a stronger runner.
Runner 1
Before training, runner 1’s waistline is seen dropping during left middle stance phase of running. After training runner 1’s waistline is more level during the same phase of running. After 6 weeks of training, his waistline during right middle stance phase of running is improved. A more level waist line allows for improved joint position, muscle- joint stability and energy conservation when running in both left and right stance phases of running.
Changes in frontal plane control are observed after the 1st session in left middle stance phase.

Re-assessment of running form after 6 weeks of using the Postural Restoration Running Program demonstrates improved frontal plane control during the right stance phase of running.

Runner 2
Changes in frontal plane control for another runner observed after the first training session.
